Development and Growth: Relationships
Wednesday, May 16, 2018
One of the things non-profit organizations can do for a community is to provide useful information that will help with personal and professional growth. Today's topic of discussion is "Relationships".
Good relationships consist of a level of trust. Whether building trust with personal or business relationships, there has to be interaction between the parties trying to establish the connection on a regular, consistent basis. People like to work with and be involved with those they can depend on and can relate to. The more consistent you are in your communication and interaction, the more trust you build.
Interesting Reading about the Hidden Valley Area
One of the things we intend to do this year is to provide more information about the community and its surrounding area(s). We have received a few questions concerning housing, community areas, crime and what the future holds for the Hidden Valley Community. While we will not directly address those topics in this post, we have performed a Google search to see what others are saying about the area, to begin a conversation. It’s a good thing to take an assessment every now and then to see where you’ve been, and where you are
EXERCISE. EAT BETTER. TWO THINGS TO DO FOR 2018
In this post, we’ll take a look at a few resources that have information about how to live healthier. A healthy diet and exercise are very important components of a healthy lifestyle. And, it may not be as hard as you think to achieve.
Two web sites that have a great deal of information about dietary care are:
The CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention): https://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/healthy_eating/# and;
Health.gov (Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion):
There is plenty of information there to assist with meal planning for you and the entire family. As usual, we encourage you to go there and research for yourself to discover what works best for you. As far as exercise goes, we’ll discuss that from a common-sense approach. Meaning, the first thing to realize is that being overweight didn’t happen overnight; but rather over a period of time. Having said that, we must also realize that the weight comes off the same way (over a period of time).
Garden Center Veterans Appreciation Service :
On February 18th, we will be hosting a Veteran’s Appreciation service at Hidden Valley Elementary School. The service will begin at 10:00 am.
We would like to invite all veterans and service members in the Hidden Valley Community to the appreciation service that day. The Garden Center will recognize veterans/service members by their military branch during the service. As a option veterans/service members can bring or wear memorabilia.
Immediately following the service, Pastor Mark Chambers will feed all veteran/service members. We are very excited and honored to host Veteran’s Appreciation! We hope to see all our Hidden Valley veterans/service members on 2/18/18.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP by calling The Garden Center at 980-349-8715.
